DR's 1 Year Old!

Just recently, DR's 1st year anniversary passed!
Originally, DR was once a handful of mini-websites until I decided to merge them all together. It was only going to be a simple hobby graphics site, but as time went by, "quality" graphics became the theme.
Hopefully more improvements will be made in the future.

For now, here's the latest news:
First off, I'd like to thank all the people who have applied for affiliation in the past. However, there are quite a few of you out there, and only one of me. Since I'd like to spend more than a few minutes going through each application, I've decided to dedicate March to be the once-a-year review time for affiliation.
Thus there will be only two other ways of grabbing my attention:
1) If your site is truly amazing (like WOW o.o) and you let me know about it through the contact form or on my blog.
2) If your site is truly amazing (like OMM* o.o) and I apply for affiliation myself ^_^.

*OMM = "OH MY MOCHI!"

So I haven't been sitting idle for this past week - I've been spending a little more time coding and re-coding the back end of DR.
I'll probably be doing that for the rest of the week too (after my midterms, which are also this week), and after that I'll be walling again.

My host has been having some problems lately, so unfortunately I may not have received all the email sent through the contact form. I have been informed that by this time (or by tomorrow night) these technical problems should be fixed and everything should be running smoothly again. With this in mind, if you've sent some emails lately and have not received a reply, chances are that I never got them. Please feel free to contact me again.

Fireworks

Hope everyone had a nice July 4th! (Or for those of you who aren't from the US, hope you had a happy early-July time anyway.)


You may have noticed that the organization of the site has been slightly changed - no more portfolio section, and no more d-zine section. Those parts were pretty much dead anyway - wasn't sure what to do with them for the longest time...in the end they just landed in the Recycle Bin *-*.

Also, layout designs which used to be a part of the Graphics section have now branched out into an independent Designs section. I'm thinking about adding some scripts for download in Designs as well...but that idea is still in the planning phase. Tutorials off temporarily (revamping) and Signs from Graphics have been taken off permanently (didn't fit quality standards).


For the past few days I've been cleaning up a bunch of old code (written maybe half a year ago o.o;) so the layout is much cleaner than before. Yucky work...but I treated myself to a sinful helping of ice cream when i was finished, so life's still good.

New Gallery Section! Partially since I've been getting quite a few requests for images, and also because I've been wanting to make one anyway, I decided to add this new feature to DR.

Summer is coming...

Finally!

I will still be taking summer school, but at least I'll have more time to wall etc.

However, before summer officially comes, I'll be having some humongo projects due + finals week right after - which means walling will probably have to wait another week and a half or so.

Now for some announcements:

After some long, grueling hours, I finally got the Reviews Section re-coded, PHP-ified, and MySQL-ified. I expect adding reviews to be a lot easier from now on.

For those of you who do use the site's feeds, you may have noticed that the old link no longer works. It has been updated to rss.xml, which is now also automated with every new update I make. This should make this easier and faster for poor me (yeah, I know you care!).

The top navigation has been recoded for more cross-platform compatibility. More improvements in this area will probably be made in the future....

...Also MySQL-ified.

Future projects include revamping the tutorials section...maybe -_-
