The Synopsis

Kurosaki Ichigo is a fifteen-year-old boy "blessed" with the ability to see supernatural spirits and ghosts. His family also seems to possess some sort of supernatural ability, albeit subversions to Ichigo's level of ability. He meets a female Shinigami - translated as "Death God" - named Kuchiki Rukia. In an illegal act to save Ichigo's life, Rukia transfers her Shinigami powers to Ichigo on a temporary basis. As Ichigo learns to cope with this new "blessing," the characters begin to realize that there may be more to Ichigo than his supernatural vision.
