The Synopsis

Wow this is the most important episode in the series so far. Many big things happen here a little while into the battle, when Kira and Cagalli finally show up. Everyone is surprised again, and Athrun begins to tell Kira to stop doing this. Cagalli once again orders orb's forces to cease attacking the Minerva, that nowhere in Orb's ideals is this listed. Meanwhile, some important things happen during the battle:

  1. Kira and Athrun fight - AGAIN.
  2. Sting gets in between them and his unit is destroyed by Kira.
  3. Shinn, tired of the Archangel's constant interference, attacks Cagalli (this basically takes away the standstill).
  4. Kira and Shinn have a bout, Shinn's "seed" bursts, and Shinn manages to dodge one of Kira's attacks - an impressive achievement since very very few people can do that against Kira.
  5. Auel gets in between Shinn and Kira's fight and gets killed by Shinn.
Neo pressures Yuna into ordering Orb's forces to attack the Minerva in full, and this becomes the swinging point of the battle. Orb's solders tell Cagalli that their hearts died when she left the country, and that they were already prepared to do this. The leader of Orb's attack squad, with a pained expression, attacks Cagalli. Kira shouts her name as she watches Minerva destroy the squad. Lunamaria, who was protecting the back side of the Minerva, gets shot and her unit is destroyed. Shinn, after Kira turns back to Athrun, and begins destroying the other Orb units in the sky, dropping them one by one in a mad daze. Cagalli begins to cry.
The whole while, Athrun and Kira continue to fight each other, both mentally and gundamly. Athrun asks Kira why he is still fighting, and Kira asks a shocked Athrun why he hasn't noticed that Cagalli is crying. Athrunn is destroying Orb's soldiers - the very people Cagalli is trying to protect. And because of that, Kira will shoot Athrun. Kira's "seed" bursts and he destroys Athrun's unit. The Minerva's crew is shocked when Athrun's signal is lost.
Commander Todoka of Orb's forces scolds Yuna for cowering at the last moment, saying that he will keep to the order to destroy the Minerva to the very end, and throws Yuna to the ground. He orders his crew to evacuate the ship and to find and join the Archangel. Shinn, who has been destroying Orb's ships one by one, eventually destroys Todoka's ship, and Todoka with it. Shinn does not know, however, that he has just killed the Orb officer who saved him back when Shinn had just lost his family.

The Review

This is the most critical episode of the series so far. So many things happen x.x; if you miss it, you've basically wasted your time watching the series >.>.
