The Synopsis

Early morning breakfast with the family starts out with Himeno finally succumbing to one of Mayune's tricks - a paper-seat chair. When Himeno furiously breaks the chair in her attempt to get up, the Awayukis notice a bug crawling around the chandelier above the table. Himeno notices that it's not a regular bug, and senses the presence of Fenrir's power in it. Later, in the gardens, Himeno reports this finding to Hayate, and tells him that she does not want to involve her family in the battle.
Her hopes are short-lived, however, when she finds that her family has decide to go on a "ghost hunt," led by a Kaoru thoroughly convinced that what they saw that morning was a ghost lurking around the grounds. Somehow, Yayoi manages to join in, talking nonsense about her romantic craze again. Himeno, distraught, tries to get them to stop the search. Mayune, who had been ready to leave, suddenly shows a burts of enthusiasm as she leads everyone to start searching after she realizes that Himeno doesn't want them to. As the group disappears, the Leafe knights reassure Himeno that they will send some guards to look after her family. Go orders Mannen, Hajime, and Shinn to take care of this.
Sasame arrives to the small meeting a little late. Himeno runs up to apologize to him for her inability to pretear when he needed help, but Sasame assures her that he's okay. Sasame decides to follow Himeno and Hayate as the party splits up to search the house for signs of Fenrir. Hayate and Himeno are suddenly awkward around each other, blushing when they bump into each other and when they look at each other at the same time. While looking under a table, Himeno bumps her head while getting up. Sasame and Hayate turn to her and ask her if she's okay - just as she jams her shin into the table leg and falls against the wall. Hayate worries over her and stutters awkwardly when Himeno looks up at him. Sasame, suddenly frustrated, tells Hayate that if he has time to play games, he should be searching harder since it was his fault that...and he trails off and leaves the room. Hayate and Himeno bump into each other, causing Himeno to get nervous and run out the door to search outside. Privately, Himeno and Hayate realize that they're in trouble. Meanwhile, Tanaka is about to be attacked by one of Fenrir's familiars (purple Leafe-sucking butterflies), when Shinn captures it. The frightened Tanaka has fallen to the ground and peed in his pands (x.x). Later on, they arrive at what looks like an abandoned shed. They worry over opening it, and when they do, a gust of wind blows them away and an army of vines chases them back the way they came. Mannen laughs at their retreating backs, but is cut short by Go's arrival. Go scolds them for fooling around and orders them to hurry up and go after the Awayukis. Mawata, holed up in her room, begs Mikage to stay with her for a little longer. She beings to confide in Mikage about how lonely she is, and how after her father died, she had had to bottle up all her emotions to herself. She explains that she thought her heart could never be opened again like with her father until she heard Sasame's voice on the radio. Mikage tosses Sasame's tapes into the trash, informing Mawata that it is okay to hate and to feel sorrow. Sasame has left Hayate and Himeno to continue the search separately as he sits atop a white building in the garden, listening to his fellow comrades searching for Fenrir. He thinks about what a knight is supposed to do, and about what they intend to do with the Princess of Disaster. As he walks the halls of the Awayuki household again, he accidentally bumps into Mikage as she is exiting Mawata's rooms. He recognizes her eyes and stops her, telling her that he knew someone once who looked just like her, and that he loved her. When Mikage says she is in a hurry and attempts to leave, Sasame stops her again, this time calling her by her real name, Takako. At that moment, Himeno comes out and hears this. Hayate follows soon after with Go and the others, and are shocked to see Mikage transform into Fenrir. Himeno asks why Mikage had been so kind to her, and Takako answers that it was so she could use Himeno's powers, but now it wasn't necessary because she would find a new dark puppet to use.
Go attacks her with a fireball, but to everyone's surprise, Sasame blocks it with his sound barrier. He tells Takako that she will never change, and that he will accept that. He faces her and pulls out his earring, dropping it at the feet of his shocked comrades. He tells Fenrir that he renounces his knighthood for her.

The Review

Oh good episode - but Sasame! I guess I can understand why it was him of all people. He was the main person able to understand deeper feelings and assauge the pain that many people kept bottled up inside - much like Takako is doing.
